Dionysis Panos
Associate Professor
Dionysis Panos (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor in New Media Sociology and Political Communication at the Department of Communication and Internet Studies, at the Cyprus University of Technology. He was awarded his Ph.D by the Department of Media and Communication at the University of Athens. Between 2015 and 2018, he served as the Coordinator of the Master’s Program “Digital Media and Journalism” at the Cyprus University of Technology. He also led a significant number of Political Communication research projects while he also worked as an Independent Political Communication Consultant with collaborations with various politicians in Greece. In the period 2010-2011, he was a Member of the Board of Directors (acting Vice President) of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), and during the period 2015-2016, he was a Member of the Board of Directors of the National Centre for Security Studies (KEMEA).
Research interests: Social Media and Misinformation, Electoral Campaigns, Algorithmic Memory, Digital Archives, and Digital Oral History.
