Venia Pappa (Ph.D.) is an Assistant Professor in Journalism and Digital Media at the Department of Communication and Internet Studies, at the Cyprus University of Technology. She has previously worked at the Department of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Cyprus. Venia received her Ph.D. in Communication and Internet Studies from the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) and the Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint Denis.

Research interests: New media technologies, journalism, and citizenship. Algorithmic curation, and journalism, exploring how algorithms and automation impact news production and the public’s engagement with media.
